Engineering is where we look deeper into how performance bikes actually work.

This section explores the design ideas, engineering tricks, and performance upgrades that make sportbikes faster, sharper, and more exciting to ride. From airflow and intake design to suspension behaviour, engine tuning, and chassis geometry — this is where the theory behind the machines gets broken down.

Many of these articles connect directly to real projects in the garage, including the YZF750R track build, the 2003 Yamaha R1, and other bikes that pass through the workshop.

The goal isn’t complicated engineering jargon. It’s understanding the ideas that make motorcycles perform better — and explaining them in a way that riders, builders, and track enthusiasts can actually use.

If the Workshop shows how things are done, Motorcycle Engineering explains why they work.

Understanding the machines first — then making them faster.
